Why Bring Your Pet on Holiday?

Studies show that pets reduce stress and enhance our overall well-being—so why not let them enjoy the holiday too?

Here are some reasons why traveling with pets is a great idea:

  • Strengthens Your Bond – Spending more time together deepens the connection between you and your pet.
  • More Outdoor Adventures – Pets encourage you to explore more, whether it’s a beach walk or a countryside hike.
  • Less Stress for Pets – Many pets experience separation anxiety when left behind. Taking them with you ensures their comfort and happiness.

It is a special day!

As I write this first article, my body and mind is in a total euphoria. This is a very special moment.
Im right now on a place I never thought I would be (at least in the next few years). Realising that this is happening makes me feel like Im living in a dream. Living in a parallel universe.

Being here at this point, seeing this actually getting forward and ready to shout to the world “hey, we are open”, makes me proud from everything I have done the past years to make this happen. I totally believe that what goes around, comes around, and however life has not been so great to me, I still believe that what you give, is what you get.

I didn’t think that in 2023 I would starting to look for a new home and would have my own tourism, still small, business. And after the whole process of looking and visiting some properties for the past 4 months, deciding from some really nice ones with a lot of potential, until the moment of choosing one and go through the paperwork, the highlight of all this was definitely the moment I got the license from Turismo de Portugal. It was at this moment that I realise that this is happening.

I have managed some other people homes for seasonal accommodation, and I knew that one day I would have my own business in the area, as I have a lot of experience in hotels and customer service. I just didn’t know that would be this sooner.

It is true that I was lucky enough to buy a property that checks a lot of boxes of what I idealize for my own business, and this helped a lot through the process of decision. The fact that it is located not so far from the beach but lies in a countryside and charming small village makes it a perfect match, for a start.

I have bigger plans for this and one day I would like to expand and get a piece of land where Im gonna be able to create something from scratch, bring people along to be more connected with nature, animals and local traditions. But for now, I need to focus in this new step of my life and make sure that this project will match costumers expectations and create a new level of experience holidays.

This is a very personal message that Im sharing in this blog. In the future I want to come back here and read this, smile and think to myself: “you did it!“.

For anyone that is reading this, thanks for being here and I can’t wait to see you around.

Love,

João
